Divorce/Separation
Gregsons provide specialist advice in respect of many family matters but particularly in respect of divorce and separation.
We aim to provide an efficient and sympathetic service at what is a difficult time.
If divorce is inevitable then we can help you cope with all the practical and legal aspects of the proceedings including the divorce itself and related financial and perhaps children issues.
Where parties are unmarried matters can be considerably more complicated but we can offer advice and legal assistance on the division of assets following cohabitation both in accordance with the new Civil Partnership Act and also in respect of general property/contract law as may be required.
It is also to be noted that we offer advice in respect of drafting pre nuptial agreements and pre registration agreements in respect of civil partnerships.

General Family Matters
In respect of divorce and separation there are always other aspects which can arise and we can offer advice and assistance in respect of the following related matters:-
Domestic violence
We can offer urgent advice and assistance in obtaining civil injunctions for personal protection and to protect occupation rights within the home. We can also advise you in respect of criminal proceedings pursuant to the Harassment Act and how to obtain that assistance via the police.
Referrals to Mediation
We would offer a referral to mediation in respect of all relevant matters, in particular Children Act proceedings and divorce/separation. We believe that mediation is an important alternative in many cases to issuing unnecessary and costly court proceedings.

These are often necessary or desired following relationship breakdown. We can prepare the appropriate documentation in order to effect the same.
Grandparents' Rights
We can help maintain or re-establish contact with grandchildren when their parents separate in difficult circumstances by way of mediation, negotiation, or if necessary and appropriate, application to obtain the relevant orders.
